About this place
Ariran in Shiomi, Koto Ward, is an unpretentious neighborhood Korean restaurant serving everything from tabletop yakiniku to comforting soups. The expansive menu accommodates solo lunches, evening get-togethers, and family dinners alike.
Soup offerings span spicy options like sundubu-jjigae and yukgaejang to hearty rice dishes like stone-bowl bibimbap. The yukgaejang, loaded with vegetables in a spicy beef broth, earns consistent praise from diners. For milder palates, samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and gomtang provide rich, warming alternatives. Spicy bibim naengmyeon is also on hand alongside the sizzling bibimbap.
Meat selections cover cuts like beef short ribs (kalbi), premium skirt steak (harami), and salted beef tongue, as well as a samgyeopsal pork belly set. Adding seafood chijimi pancakes or stir-fried chapchae glass noodles brings varied textures to the table. Small plates such as tteokbokki, simmered offal, and steamed egg (gyeran-jjim) pair naturally with draft makgeolli or beer.
Lunchtime features practical sets including grilled meat set meals and jjigae, making the shop accessible for solo meals. Portions are generous, with diners noting that the rice serving on the lunch yakiniku set is particularly substantial.
